Breeders

It is the buyer's decision whether or not to purchase from a particular breeder & litter after having researched the following:
1. Parents’ health tests and ages.
2. The temperament & quality of the parents.
3. The cleanliness of the breeder's premises.
4. The terms and conditions of the sales contract.

The breeders found on these pages are members in good standing of the IGCC but their listing is not an endorsement of quality. Every litter/puppy must be individually assessed by buyers to determine suitability. Breeders should provide copies of annual eye tests (CERF), and recent patella exams for both parents to prospective purchasers. Proof of testing (and passing!) does not mean the puppies are 'risk free' - it just means the chances of them being affected by heritable disease may be less. Some breeders do additional testing at their discretion. The IGCC does not have the power to enforce required and recommended testing protocols. Do not assume the breeder is doing health tests just because they are an IGCC member breeder.
